Wanted to try out drawing some norwegian/scandinavian folklore creatures, just 'cuz :>
The upper left one is supposed to be Nøkken, the lower left one is supposed to be a Nisse, and the right one is supposed to be a Huldra.

I think I've talked about Nøkken before, but they're basically the monster kids were being warned of to not go near lakes, 'cuz they would be there, lure you in somehow, and drown you In some versions, Nøkken can transform into a white horse to lure their victims onto their back and just dive straight into the lake. In a more kid friendly version I remember of Nøkken, it said something about Nøkken being so lonely that they played chess with frogs or something.

Nisse doesn't really have anything to do with Santa and Christmas from what I remember, they're just a bunch of mischievous chaotic small people that wants to cause havoc in villages. The only way to calm them would be to give them a bowl of porridge, which is why some families have a tradition of putting a bowl of porridge outside for Christmas in order to calm these Nisse uvu

As for Huldra, they are these seductive women of the forest that try and lure men somewhere to die. The only way to really notice if they are a Huldra was to spot the cow-like tail they usually hide underneath their dress :]

For each of these creatures, there are different versions of their tales. One of the creatures I wanted to try and draw was the Troll, but it has so many different versions of it that I didn't really know how I wanted to draw them. So yeah, if you want to know more about these creatures, it's better to search about them yourself :') I've only told the version(s) I've been told from where I live.
