(Originally dated 2013-06-22.)A crude map of an idea I had to create a canal between Lake Assal and the Gulf of Aden while simultaneously redirecting rivers (made larger by geoengineering/terraforming efforts) into it, making it into an above sea-level, freshwater lake.
