Description
"The Blue Moon," Ophella explained, "is basically a conspiracy, without the illegal part. My uncle, Thaxton Thorvemell, started us as a small Adventure group about a hundred and thirty years ago. I was the second and only other leader after his death. Since our start, we've grown and accomplished many things, and decided to go underground when zoites started trying to steal our earnings. Basically what we do is we hire explorers who work for us as one would in a company town: instead of paying them for profit we provide them with housing and the other things they need to live their normal lives. Explorers often have other jobs to make extra money, and they'll also be rewarded extra if they bring in a big haul. Missions can include exploring ruins, new areas, or the basics like lake Seda. The goal is to find things we can sell or claim, like artifacts, new creatures, or other things. They bring back what they find, we sell it, and the profit goes to supporting our explorers and expanding the organization, which includes helping fund special schools like the dojo and adventure guild."As far as explorers go, we have tiers of our most qualified. Extremely similar to the adventure guild, explorers can earn rank and seniority in regards to how much we trust them with. For example if You were to decide to stay as an explorer, you'd start at the bottom with simple missions until you get the basic skills required to going on bigger hunts. Your mother, Kale, was pretty well ranked. Well enough to go on missions in which rival explorer groups- PIRATE groups, would try to track Her down to take her bounty. Bounty that the group relies on to stay grounded on all four legs. It is very important that we can trust our members with these tasks; not only to get the job done but also to return ALL the loot they receive to our hold. That's why we try to select children at young ages who probably already have some familiarity with the group despite its secretiveness. Many azoites don't even know we exist, and that's why we chose You. With your mother's past, we were pretty sure you'd at least recognize our signature images like the glowing green crystal necklaces, the repetitive statues across Kira, and some of the secret code hidden in Old Aldite writings. We were fortunate that you Also understood the weight of our organization and already started showing respect from the very moment we met you. That is why we are extending this formal offer to you now. As a normal zoite you will continue to be called Kale, and as a team component of the Blue Moon, we will prefer to call you Michael, your original, hatch-given name. And in return for your works, we will continue to protect and provide for you like all our other members." The empress extended her claw outward to expose one of the green necklaces, secondary to the one handing from her neck. "So what do you say? Do we have a deal?"
