It DOES look awesome. Sadly, not really my thing, for I am old and the new-fangled anime full of angsting teenagers no longer holds my interest. I might be judging it prematurely, but it looked to be a sibling or at least cousin to Gundam Seed, which was also lovely but just wasn't my cup of tea--I only got through about 5 episodes before wandering off.
Anime/Manga I do like: Yu Yu Hakusho, Gundam Wing, Naruto (before the cast list went supernova and I stopped caring), Bleach (before the cast list went supernova and I REALLY stopped caring), Nora (which is only in manga format, sadly), Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit, Princess Tutu, xxxHolic, Switch (the manga, not the anime), Trigun.
As you can see, most of them are older titles. Do you think Code Geass fits in? :-D

I think Code Geass totally fits in! Well, I'm a great fan of it 
Most animes and mangas I like are old too. Code Geass is almost 4 years now, so it's not that new actually.
