What a charming story. What a lovely cat & what a touching tribute your sister has put together to his memory. I've always loved that Persian Blue colouring : it has a strange, otherworldly quality that somehow manages to make grey seem interesting! Do I detect a certain resemblance between George and the cat in 'Patience' ? George certainly has the look of a late period Louis Wain cat in the 3rd photo and the last photo - that deranged psychotic stare!
I keep meaning to put a pic of our cat, Lucy Fur, in my 'Scraps'...there's a really good one somewhere, but I can't find it in the chaos that is our house.
I've visited your 'Catnip' website before, altho' 'twas many moons ago. Looks like you've been doing some updating, so I'll have to go back when I've got a bit more time & have a good mozzy round. I'd be interested to see the Flea Alphabet you mention...is it on the website somewhere? ( "and if not, why not!?!" )
The ruler of another planet? *grins* That Flea, eh? Crazy name, crazy guy!
Oh, one more thing : I'm probably going to end up looking really unkewl for asking this, but what is this " 9_9 " thingy?

I know, I love what Trudi did on the website; I often look at those pictures of George, as I think they really do sum up exactly how he was. I'd love to get a persian blue kitten, and have always loved 'blues for the same reason you mentioned! Yes there is indeed a resemblance, but I think it's probably based on my other cat Raziel; Raz is a black/grey longhair.
When his coat's at its thickest, you'd mistake him for a cushion!
Ooo yes, add on a pic of your cat! All cat's look gorgeous. Even the scary hairless ones. ;D
Ah really? Yeah I update quite a few things on there that are not seen here on Deviant. Ooo, tis located here [link] and here [link] Flea looks a little bit different, as this was him in his early stage.
Probably a bit of a tyrant too; I think he was exiled - he didn't leave. Hah, well I've always used the '9_9' sign as a symbol of rolling ones eyes; I'm fairly certain there's an emoticon for it, but what with laziness and all, I can't be asked to find out.

My sympathys go out to Raziel...being mistaken for a cushion while enjoying a quiet catnap could end up being quite vexing. I'm often mistaken for an 18th Century Oak Dressing Table so in a way, I can kinda relate to Raz. It's almost like we're soul brothers. Give him a pilchard from me.
Gawds Teeth & Trousers...much as I love cats I'm not sure about those scary hairless ones being gorgeous! I still haven't managed to find that photo of our cat yet. I'll have to try & cajole Ishtar into looking for it, she has almost miraculous powers when it comes to finding things.
Thanx for the Flea Alphabet links. They're kinda rough, but it was fascinating to see the embryonic Flea, still dripping with the amniotic fluid of Imagination as it were, leaping through the alphabet. He looked very demonic in his yoof! It was also interesting to get a glimpse into the sketchbook of the Legendary Lady A. When I was an art student I liked looking thru peoples sketchbooks, seeing how ideas evolve & such.
Thanx for explaining the 9_9 mystery! Actually the "rolls eyes" emoticon is one of my favourites. Just type : roll : but without the spaces & hey presto you get

He thanks you for the pilchard, and compliments you on your choice. Don't feel too sorry for Raz - he's spoilt rotten! These longhair cats are such snobs. An oak dressing table? *laughs*
I'm sure someone out there believes those cats to be gorgeous. I can imagine waking up in the middle of the night with one of them sitting on my pillow and giving me a terrible fright! Actually, anytime of the day, probably...Yes, find the cat photos!
Yes, those alphabet images were indeed very rough! Hah, I think Flea has matured, definitely; his ears/horns are pointier for a start. Thankyou! I love looking through people's sketchbooks too - while it's nice to see the end result, sketchbooks are always so much more interesting (if they're good!) as I love to see the rough sketchs, and unused ideas.
Oooooo! I have the poooweeer!!
I have foreseen that this will be used frequently...

I bring you tidings of Joy and Goodly Gree. *cue a fanfare of horns & sackbutts* At last, after an Exhaustive Search, I have found *cue overly dramatic drumroll* The Near Legendary Cat Photo, almost fabled in myth & legend since, oh, several weeks back. *cue chorusing of massed choirs & muscle bound bloke bashing enormous copper gong*
It is here [link]
During the aforementiond Search I came across a quantity of other cute cat pix, a few of which can be viewed here [link]
On reflection I fear I may have overdone it with the sound FX just then; perhaps a discreet *ahem* or a *taps gingerly on wine glass with silver spoon* would have been more appropriate. Oh well, WTF, it's too late now.
Ah, the giddying excitment of a new emoticon eh? I don't want to turn this into an Emoticon Fest or anything (heaven forfend anything so tacky *lol*) but here's another one that you may find diverting if you haven't encountered it already. It's not used very often, but 'tis brilliant...partly 'cos it's like a short animation, & partly 'cos it manages to be both poignantly sad & hilariously funny at the same time ( as someone once wrote "Humour is despair refusing to take itself seriously" ). Check it out.....

Yaaay!! Aw, she's absolutely gorgeous - I love black cats. They always have that sly look...probably because it's hard to distinguish the features with those big yellow eyes! She does indeed look like a Queen of Cats; all cats quite rightly demand this kind of respect. (Tapping lightly on a wine glass with a silver spoon would've been too subtle for such a lovely cat; a choir is definitely more suited.
)
Awwwww! How tragic! It's like an emoticon with leperosy, isn't it?

Yeah Lucy Fur is Sly & Inherantly Eyyyyvil; but she is also a Cute & Fluffy Thing. Hence the name. I've just relayed your compliments to her but her only response was a languid
Cat's eh?!
Hmmm yes indeed. Spiritual leperosy even!

Oh really? Typical cat. I suppose she's so used to the constant flow of approval that it's like water off a duck's back now.
