Description Before you ask...

This is made in Flash Cs3. With a texture using blendingmode to make the traditional effect. Backgrounds are drawn in photoshop Cs3. The traditional parts are drawn on paper, stopmotion figures cut out from cardboard, and cutout scanned in, and then an animated drawing. ( draw slightly then scan then draw alittle more then scan etc)

FINALLY The movie you have all been waiting for xD <3
Ive got so much to spew out about this but ill try to keep it short.

ITS DONE!!! GUUUHHHH!! This is such a relief!!
Frustration release: sdjgfsbdjgfsbdjgfsbj!!!!
---

OK First of all I WANT TO thank ~Nichoo FOR the beautifull job on the music ;W;!! I love it so much and hes put so much work into it even though he had his own prodject, and music to do for others. FFF YOU are an awesome dude Flikoflai <3
---

The consept and story for this movie started in january this year(school prodject) and ive had since then til now to finish it all by myself. Over 5 mins alone in less than 5 months all together, that is some hard work done right there.

Ive been frusterated, exited, happy, insane, crying, angry and overly joyfull while doing this. BUT MOST OF ALL Ive learned so much from this prosess. durr!
---

Flaws and mistakes

PEOPLE Believe me, i know almost every flaw and mistake, because ive seen though theese files 1.000.000 times. I know them, I JUST didnt have time to fix them fFFFFff xD
I just had to consentrate getting this done til today. Some animations are so rushed i didnt even sketch them first xD

And the most annoying one i didnt have time to fix was when hes flying the jump from scene 4 to 5 doesnt make sense i should have animated him sitting up but durr xD
---

GUH ;U; So i hope you will enjoy my biggest and hardest working projects ive ever done in my entire life.
It has been amazing to do for me and I hope it will please you to ^^

I totally had to share with you aweosme people <3

Ok Ill shuut up nuw

I was really impressed by your work. Even though there wasn't any dialogue there was so much more said. Your ability to tell a story like that is really commendable. I'm curious as to the inspiration for this short film. I would love to see more animations like this from you. It was a short sweet film that I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm not going to critique you on what could've been done better because like you said before you've seen it about 1 million times so you know where all the flaws are. Being an animator, and doing all the work yourself is a lot of work. I love your transitions. The world that you show the viewers makes us want to see more of. And the music really complements the film.

;U; thank you so much <3

the inspiration for this film hm, its alor of things i think, what i did was to sit down in the start and write a list of what i wanted to animate and have in the film xD and out from that made up a story were everything worked together

Im going to make a new film not long from now, because we can choose what to do in animation for spring ^^

i really hope i don't double post, because my computer's being dumb, but to the real point! XD this has to be one of the most intricate, well-put-together films i've ever seen on DA ^^ i loved the imagination put into the characters and the fabulous creatures in that special world. the style was absolutely wonderful, filled with poetic symplicity and that cat! even though it didn't have much screen time, it obviously had a character! XD so much detail was put into this, and it was definitely worth it! great work ^^

I really enjoyed watching this - your hard work and dedication was well worth it!! I love your stylized textures, the characters are so cute and have so much expression. You especially animated the flying sequences and the birds really well and I can see your sense of gravity and physics in the animation too. Keep up the great work!

FablePaint [2010-10-26 18:24:16 +0000 UTC]

Watch the 180 line here. The 180 line is a straight line running between any two characters in your scene that you mustn't cross, at least not without risking confusing your audience. Think of your film like a stage. You in the audience cannot jump on stage and view the action from the reverse side. You see it from one major angle. You could place the camera, or "seat", close to the stage, or far away, or WAY up high, or right next to the actors' feet, but you can never go on to the stage and look at the audience yourself. If you do that, as in this scene (where he's putting on the bridle), then the characters suddenly change places as if they magically teleported to a different side of the stage. Worse, suddenly breaking the 180 line can cause what looks like a sudden change in scenery which can confuse people into thinking they're in a completely new place.
If you want to learn more about the 180 line and why it's important, google search it. There's plenty of argument about when and why to use it or break it.
Otherwise, awesome animation! Very cute and I like transition into other techniques.

As much as I agree that in some cases crossing the 180 line could be confusing, I think it actually works well. When I saw it change it felt like the first side was coming from the boy's point of view, and it changed to the white cutiepie when it was coming from his/her point of view. I don't know, I just thought it had more depth this way. ^_^

Yeah i know xD i totally learned that in our character and storytelling class a few weeks after i made this scene and i was like omfg! im not going back and changing it.

I didnt get any time on fixing stuff on this because of the time limit we had and me being alone on it and all. AND i dont even have time to fix it, but i sure learned alot which is what counts most for me. But thanks anyway <3

Wow, beautifully done. I really liked the characters and the story. It was interesting and fun to watch. It made me smile. I hope some day you get a chance to bring some of your characters and worlds to life in maybe a full length feature animation. Based on what I see in your gallery you have a very unique and creative mind and I love fresh new things! ^^
