do you have any tips for cleaning a skull? I have a coyote skull that still has some fur on it that I'd like to remove.

I am sorry, I know that I'm not the person you were looking for an answer from, but I do have some times. This is going to sound INCREDIBLY gross, but maggots and beetles are the absolute best for cleaning bones. You can try raising beetles or maggots, or just bury it for a while. After that give it a good rinse and a gentle scrub with a wire brush then leave it in the sun to dry for a few days. Nature has this stuff down to a science hehe. If you want it bright white you can bleach it afterward, but I'm not quite sure how to do that.

thanks. I think I'll probably go with burying it for a while

If that doesn't work you can try simmering it in a pot with some baking soda. DO NOT BOIL IT. That's how you make really nasty soup stock (well, soup stock in general, it will just be nasty because it's rotting meat hehe) and destroy the bones. A warning, it smells worse that butt and you will have to keep a really close eye on it. It just loosens up whatever is still stuck on the bone and makes it easier to peel off.

if you dont mind the gross you can get a pair of pliers and a stiff toothbrush and some hot water/soap and that should help get some of it off.
and contrary to the above. NEVER EVER EVER use bleach. EVER. it destroys bone.

My friends name is Finch Wolf...
My names Wolf Joseph Finch Daigle IIII...
So I go by Wolf Finch and he goes by Finch Wolf, It's unfortunate when our names get mixed up, we look like twins.

I know someone already asked, but did you just find that or is that one of the ones you bought? Either way, that's pretty nifty. It's so teeny-tiny.

Ah, I'm sorry.
That's pretty cool, then. When you save them do you boil them or bleach them or what? I found a bird's wing once and I wanted to save it, but I had no idea how to clean it.

I'd love to see a video on how you clean them. I enjoyed the beheaded video, very informative.
I'm waiting for a fox skull to dry out, but have no idea where to go from there.
