Escape velocity: "The lowest velocity which a body must have in order to escape the gravitational attraction of a particular planet or other object."
Equating change in kinetic energy and change in gravitational energy and rearranging for v we get escape velocity.
Kinetic energy = 1/2mv^2
gravitational potential energy = -(GmM)/r
escape velocity =[(2GM)/r]^(1/2)Β
where:
G = gravitational constant = 6.67x10^-11 (m^3.Kg^-1.s^-2)
M = mass of planet (Earth) = 6x10^24 (kg)
r = radius of planet (Earth) = 6371x10^3 (m)
Gives V:escape = 11200 m/s = 11.2 km/sΒ
Coming to the crest of the hill, the girl stands witness to a craft of such immense power, in awe, despite not seeing the science of it all, hidden behind the wonder of its thin tail as it sparkles through the sky. All she could remember from her classes was 11.2 km/s. Just numbers and figures. But in person, it seemed so much more.Β

Jesus this piece just leaves me dumbfounded.
Theres a certain point that when a piece is just too good words can't do it justice.
This is one of those cases.
Just.Damn.
Good stuff.
Beyond good stuff.

Just realized that you had a Daily Deviation a couple of months back, so its too soon for me to suggest this being a DD.
Damn it.

I find this scene so peaceful ! At first it looks simple, but no...There's a lot of details to see and appreciate in it.
Beautiful work. Thank you.

The Master leaves a visible track after being slugged by Akane Tendo.Β First because he's an underwear-stealing perv caught in the act, and second for saying Akane's underwear wasn't worth stealing.Β

An enthralling work! The concept as well as the technical implementation of the drawing are superb, you certainly succeeded with the composition of the work. Other than that, I particularly love the colour of the clouds and the sky, along with the less obvious elements like the fireflies. It is almost enough to leave me speechless.
It does leave one wondering, what is the girl thinking of?

Ah, guess I'm not the only one who thought this piece looked like something from 5 Centimeters Per Second!
Good job! Getting a headache while finishing something like this is no surprise and I really love the colors. They
make me feel some kind of warmth - the palette is simply gorgeous! I also love how sharp everything looks which
gives it a more realistic touch, instead of the usual "painting" style. The power poles together with the details are
also stunning + I love how you did the clouds! It's also pretty cool watching the colors change if you zoom into
and slowly scroll down. Keep it up, as always! :>

Loving how you brought the colors down into the foreground! Were the power poles annoying to work with? XD I have the worst trouble making something like them work!
In all, this is a lovely piece, great job!

Your picture has some connection with the manga "Byousoku 5 centimeter"? Or I'm wrong?
