You with the many colored words?
All people hear you when you speak
In phrases none misunderstand,
But when you act do you confuse
As all your pretty words you bend?
When those two words you do combine,
"I believe," so closely canted,
Do you put your heart as force behind?
Or are they just some measured rhyme?
In love, in kindness, in strength, in heart
Are all the things you do profess;
Unfailing love, so close to foolish
Kindness always freely gifted
Kept with strength for those depending
Inside your own reliving heart.
How stupid do those watching think you
When you go back for punishment?
Can they believe its you believing
Putting into action what you put upon the page?
How well they grasp this silly notion
Is the mark of your success for all your days.
