Description
Third part of the Disney (or not so Disney) princesses as pokemon trainers. More thoughts on them here , in "drawings".:thumb286374657::thumb290089128::thumb293739285::thumb333184840::thumb334740187::thumb336226114:
And now for the non-Disney princesses. I wanted to draw Anastasia as far back as the first pokeprincess picture, but reading through comments of fanart involving both Anastasia and Disney princesses has taught me that tons of people just have to tell the artist how Anastasia isn't Disney regardless of how clearly the author tells that they already know it in the artist's comments. So I thought it'd be better to have the non-disney princesses in their own picture.
I don't intend to draw any more princesses so I'd appreciate it if you could refrain from pointing out how ____ is a princess too; I'm not interested in drawing her.
[Edit: fixed Fiona's hair]
F.A.Q.
Q1: What about ___? Will you draw her?
A1: I don't know. Please don't ask.
Q2: You forgot ____!
A2: Apparently you forgot that it is in no way obligatory to draw ____. Maybe I chose the characters I want to draw, and ____ didn't happen to be one of them?
Q3: Disney bought Pixar so Merida should be with the Disney Princesses!
A3: I know Disney bought Pixar, but I prefer to think of them as separate entities.
Thumbelina (Don Bluth)
Not too creative with this one, it's practically the exact same outfit as the original with just a shorter skirt.
Odette, from the Swan Princess (Richard Rich)
My favourite out of these, the outfit practically created itself. I wish the others had been as easy... Maybe it's still a bit boring?
Anastasia (Fox Animation Studios)
She was difficult because the character didn't really have an iconic and easily recognisable dress. The only exciting part of the dress were the huge see-through sleeves, which were something I couldn't use too well for an adventurous pokemon trainer.
Fiona, from Shrek (Dreamworks)
Not exactly liking this. Fiona's most defining visual charactersistic was naturally that she's a green ogre, but I couldn't use it. But what about her dress? It's green. and... yeah. What am I supposed to do with that? So the shirt turned out pretty boring. Tried to use the same ribbons Caitlin has for the "ears".
Merida, from Brave (Pixar), summer 2012
The dress she has in the promotional pictures had so little detail that I had no idea what I should do. The only fun part was the sleeves, but for some reason I used wrist band things instead. I wonder how she'll be able to put that little hood over her huge hair anyway.

Love Anastasia's little bandana/hairpiece here.
Yeah, downside of her having like ten dresses in the movie, none of them are really iconic.
Fiona looks pretty nice, though. Maybe some polka dots would've helped?
As for Merida, clearly her hair is magic. Or the hood she has in the previews with her aqua dress is.

I like Odette. She looks like a gym leader for bird-like pokemon

Pokemon Princesses? Just... wow! The whole series is awesome! Amazing work! Would you consider doing a few of them in coordinator outfits (Like Dawn's dress...) rather than just their traveling outfits?

I don't really like the coordinator outfits or anything related to pokemon contests in general so no.

Merida is a Disney/Pixar film not just a pixar. And I love your design for her. I bet she would too, lol great idea for princesses but there are a few more I'm hoping to see from you.

I love this series and think you did an awesome job on them!
For Anastasia's "iconic dress" problem: I think - just from things I've noticed of people when they mention or draw her - that her opera house dress and either the boat (when she's learning to dance) or her initial outfit as "Anya" are more well-known. And yeah, the opera one isn't suited for traveling and such, but it seems to be her most popular/well-known. ^-^

For me the most memorable outfit of hers is either the ballgown I used or the Anya outfit, but I thought I shouldn't use the Anya outfit since I based all the other outfits in the Pokeprincess series on the princess dress and not the "peasant outfit" (aside from Belle, but that's just because I find the blue commoner dress leagues better than the yellow thing).

I have to say, all of this series look absolutely lovely!
You did a very nice job with adapting the designs - they all look very reconizable, and yet... reeealy "pokemon-ish"! So cool! XD
It's hard to point my favourites. Maybe (considering the three series together): Belle, Ariel, Kida, Charlotte... and Odette! She looks the best of all!

i think you did a nice job on fiona. being a princess was also one of her defining features so the human drawing could work too. but i think you kept the outfits pretty faithful to their original clothes, they're just more comfortable for pokemon training, so her outfits looks great to me. i think you did a great job on these. keep up the good work.

I thought Fiona had red hair, for some reason... then again, I've only seen half of that movie, and it was a long, long time ago (in a galaxy far away).
Also, yay! I never see Thumbelina fanart! Nobody ever seems to know that there's a Thumbelina movie. :T

I'm pretty sure Fiona does have red hair but that is no big issue because this artist nailed the characterization and personalities in the poses and outfits. Other then Fiona's hair color mix up this series of Pokemon Princesses is totally Awesome. lol LOVE it FAVE IT! Might just have to do my own version...maybe been a while since I've drawn any Pokemon stuff.

Then please take your raving and ranting somewhere else, there are plenty of places around to discuss your movie preferences. The comments section is for giving feedback on the picture.
