She came back upstairs, thoroughly winded, and sat on the couch. “I know everybody says this isn’t easy, but I think the trick is to take it one step at a time” she said to herself. Her belly growled in response. “Oh, of course you’re hungry now,” she mumbled to her grumpy midsection. The level of hunger she felt was a slightly new sensation to her however, given that prior to her new weight-loss resolution she never really stopped eating (except to sleep). She rarely ate huge meals all at once but she was constantly snacking which was another thing she had decided to cut off, cold-turkey. Her belly had been almost completely empty since breakfast, and now that it was 9AM, it was ready to have something in it.

Her stomach kept rumbling and groaning and gurgling until she finally gave up and decided she needed something to eat. “I guess I’ll check what snacks are in the fridge,” she thought as she heaved herself up to go to the kitchen. Little did she know that her stomach had a little bit more than snacks in mind when it grumbled. She had just gotten done working out harder than she had in over a decade, and her stomach wanted a damn reward for its heroic efforts.
