When Splinter used to be Hamato Yoshi he was a close friend to Hiroshi Iwamatsu who used to become a member of the noble clan who is more closer to him than Saki. When Oroku Saki killed Tang Shen and Yoshi exiled he was horrified to learn that he pinned the murder on his friend and he decided to become a member of the Foot Clan only way to get back at Shredder for what he did to Yoshi. When Karai became one of Shredder's lieutenant Hiroshi became acquainted with her due to her dark secret and when Karai discovered that Hamato Yoshi that turned into mutant rat Splinter is her father she cut all ties with Shredder and Hiroshi revealed himself and that he's going with Karai only to be captured by Tokka and Rahzar and after he got mutated into a large burly three clawed humanoid sloth with the mutagen laced with Sloth DNA(thanks to Bebop and Rocksteady's shenanigans when the mutagen laced with Komodo Dragon was intended for him). He later became an ally to Ninja Turtles.

Abilities: Camouflage can toss toxic green moss that immobilizes enemies sharp needle claws that can be thrown as daggers exploding fungi grenades that grown on his shoulders can be used as bombs agility can take off his moss coat to pick up more speed hand to hand combat can stun enemies with his pressure points and can summon spiritual cobras to attack or poison enemies.
