Very nice tutorial!
Too bad my photoshop CS4 doesn't have a smudge tool
(as far as I can tell)
so I use the blur tool

Hawk4 In reply to JoeMavro [2009-09-21 17:30:25 +0000 UTC]

Hahah of course it has a smudge tool Its basic in all versions from 7.0

It looks like a pointy finger

TinYasuo-Cosplay In reply to ??? [2009-07-31 08:35:33 +0000 UTC]

this is just what I needed! o: my only problem is that I use GIMP.. because I don't have enough money to buy photoshop... those two programs is pretty simmilar (but GIMP is a free program).. do you know anything about GIMP? because I need some of the tools to make fire like this :/

maybe you could give me some advices somehow.. ? because this is awesome!

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Mazmysta In reply to TinYasuo-Cosplay [2009-10-16 00:09:06 +0000 UTC]

u can still do it in gimp cos it has all the needed tools

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Hawk4 In reply to TinYasuo-Cosplay [2009-08-02 22:19:00 +0000 UTC]

Hm, I actually never really used gimp - why dont you switch to corel painter ? Theres a student version out for 99$ - and its really worth the cash - still I like photoshop better, but thats only a personal oppinion.

Isnt there a kind o mudge tool im gimp ? Cause basically it doesnt matter what programm you use - all you need is the right colors and a smudge tool

I use deep paint so I have slightly differnt features, but overall this is very helpful to me. I just started working on the fire of an elemental from the game magic the gathering so I think this will be very useful.
