Description

I wont be participating in the last contest prompt so tis is it for Ruby's lil contest debut~

The umbrella has a built in sprinkler because thats the only way i could think to add rain in to this prompt

Ruby dusted off the blue dress she had just worn for the contest earlier that day - some flower petals and glitter fell to the floor as she then hung it up in the hotel’s closet. They had been given a few hours to prepare for the next contest presentation and they were still missing a vital part of their costumes..

“I hope it comes soon or were going to need to improvise”

She said pulling out two yellow raincoats, one was obviously for Ruby the other was...tiny. They were the outfits that were going to be used during their next planned event. Ruby turned around to see Poof, her Whimsicott, sitting on her bed attempting to remove the big blue bow from her head, without much luck.

“Here let me help you”

She said with a chuckle laying the next events outfits on the bed. She gently tugged at the two ends of the ribbon and the giant bow undid itself effortlessly. Ruby then folded the ribbon and placed it on the side table.

“See you just need to know how to do it” She continued picking up the little yellow raincoat she removed the plastic covering. It had been designed specifically for Poof, with fastenings that would allow the hood to sit on her head without interfering with the small Pokemons large floof.

“Are you ready for the next event?” Ruby asked as she worked to fasten the little coat onto Poof. Leaning back she adjusted the hood a bit and admired her work, It looked - well really cute. She had never really been one to dress up Pokemon, mainly because the majority she had with her when she were young were wild. Wild Pokemon only tolerate so much from humans after all.

“Whim…” Poof responded, she wasn’t really sure if that meant yes or no… Without more body language it was really hard to tell what Pokemon were thinking and feeling especially when they acted as closed off as this Whimsicott was.

“Hey you look really cute, it’s going to be fine” Ruby continued holding up a small hand mirror she retrieved from her dresser so that Pokemon could admire herself. Poof took the mirror with both her hands and stared into the reflective surface, she tried to wipe the ever present tears from her eyes but two more appeared everytime she did.

“You know it’s ok to be nervous, I know I am,” She said, patting Poof on the head, being careful not to mess up the hoods placement. Poof just looked at her and then returned her attention to the mirror - some of Ruby’s other Pokemon were a lot easier to interact with than this one. She really didn’t know what the right thing was to say and she honestly never really seemed...happy. It didn’t help that out of the corner of Ruby’s eye, every once in a while, she saw a glint of purple. She had long suspected Poof had the same affliction as Petal, her Ivysaur, but she hadn’t brought her into the Pokemon Center for a proper check up yet. Mainly because whenever Ruby brought up the idea of going Poof would instantly freak out.

I wonder how she would feel if she knew I was training to become a nurse

She mused to herself, her thoughts were interrupted by a knock at her hotel door.

“Delivery for room 420” A muffled male voice called out from the other side.

“Finally” Ruby said with a sigh.

“I’m coming” She yelled back, jumping up from the bed and exiting the room of the suite. She heard soft padding noises as Poof hopped off the bed and followed her to the door. The small Pokemon kept her distance as Ruby opened the door and retrieved a long brown box from the hotel worker.

“Thank you, I was thinking this wouldn’t show in time” Ruby said to the gentleman.

“Funny you should say that, it's actually been at the front desk for a couple days. We just kept forgetting to come bring it up to you” He responded cheerfully.

“Anyway - have a nice day Miss” He continued walking back down the hall.

Of course they forgot

Ruby tried her best to just push that thought out of her mind, it’s not like she had spent a ton of time asking the front desk if it had arrived either so she couldn’t entirely blame them.

“...all well at least we have it now.” She said closing the door, and turning around.

“Cott?” Poof said quizzingly pointing to the box.

“Oh this? It's our secret weapon” Ruby said winking as she ripped the tape off the top of the box.

“I got it made so that we would better suit the theme!” She pulled a large umbrella from the box with a weird circular contraption on the top. The odd machine had small black holes in it and it spun slightly whenever Ruby moved it.

“We just need to fill this with water and wait for the magic to happen!”

Ruby and Poof stood backstage at the next event - dressed in matching bright yellow raincoats. Ruby was holding onto the bright blue umbrella she had been waiting for what felt like months to arrive She didn’t dare open it now, she was going to wait for the perfect moment to reveal what she had planned to add to Poof’s performance. These events were taking a lot out of the small grass Pokemon so Ruby had decided this was going to be their last performance for this season and she wanted to leave a lasting impression.

“Ok lets go over this one more time” She said kneeling next to Poof who was starting to get fidgety listening to the performance before them.

“You're just going to use your leech seed to make the biggest plant you can - and then fairy wind will make it all sparkle” She continued, Poof nodded but still looked as nervous as ever.

“Don’t worry, I know you’re going to make this performance wonderful no matter what happens” Poof nodded and they heard the cheer of the last performance finishing,

It was time to put on a show.
Levels:

Poof gained +7 levels from the art submission +5 levels for the literature! That is a total of +12 levels! But Poof is already level 100! The levels turned into 600PD!
