Description
DeepFor when you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes into you.

Went to Niagara Falls on Monday night. To see fireworks. With olya and dima. More long exposures from then are coming.

Oooooh, I love how the mist obscures the left part of the photograph. It fits and frames the whole concept (and title) of the shot so very well. The slightly longer exposure makes that water look smooth (and enticiingly calm) too. A fantastic shot!

Such a fantastic shot!
The blue and the haze make it dreamy, though water in itself has this quality. Wonderful capture, technically and aesthetically.

Fantastic shot.
I love the way the blue tones are restful, yet this is a strengthful place.
This seems to come out of a dream.
The lines made by the waterfall are great.
I wish i had been able to come there by the morning or evening, but as a tourist, i didnt
I'll have to come back, one day.
I also like the way the edge of the fall is not horizontal.
Great shot

oo, I knew this was Niagra Falls before I even read your description. I went there years ago (as a stop on Phish tour, hehe) and had a blast. That was actually the only time I've been into Canada, when we crossed the bridge into that tourist trap. We went to a Karaoke bar where we saw a Yiddish man perform Michael Jackson's song "Billie Jean" and then to Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum. You have an odd land.

i've never been there before, but this makes me want to go see it. i think the blue makes it look very pretty, along w/ the mist and the pulling down feeling it gives. i'm going to take up photography as a hobby starting this weekend. me and my friend are going to go and try to get the rain to suspend. she's using an automatic, i'm using my dads manul minolta 35 mm. this is really good.

wow i didn't know digital cameras can spit out this much info....or is it just G2? also, was the actual scene a lot brighter or was it not even supposed to be blue? it'd be fun if you had a film camera with you for the same shot....you know, just for comparison

Beautiful shot, as usual. We were just there two weekends ago, but now that I've seen this, I doubt I'll bother posting any of my photos. I'll have to wait and see when I get them back how well they turned out. Nothing I have will compare to this though. The color is fantastic. Nice work!

and when you have become the abyss and you stare into yourself the world disappears in the mirror effect as all existence turns into an abyss but without height there is no abyss and without abyss there is no abyss and that means the world has come to its end and to its beginning and that that end and that that beginning is you, but you don't exist.

Very nice work. I have a couple questions. But first, the blue is not from the long exposure, it is from the night light.
Also, do you have a meter on your camera? Not the meter itself, but the meter reader? You know where you can tell what the proper exposure would be if you were to use manual mode?
Someone told me that there wasn't a meter reader on the G2 so then that would bring me to the question of how you knew what settings to use.
It is a decent photo. I would have liked to have seen the horizon line a bit higher but that is personal preference.
Very nice work hesy...keep it up.
