I was sitting around with zbx-parasite last night, going through some old Battle Chaser's comics. I've always aspired to be "as-good-as-Joe", and for a while my art closely mimicked his (a lot of my older stuff). But then I started drifting more towards the cartoony side of things (My dad and anime were to blame for that one), and my style slightly changed... and actually started getting messier. So after studying yay many issues of BC, I decided to draw something but TAKE MY TIME ON IT. My problem is that I usually don't have a lot of time to draw at home, and wind up doing it all on my breaks at work, which means I have to HURRY, so my stuff gets sloppy.After taking my time, THIS is what came out. The only reference I used was my hat... and zbx's ear at one point. All the rest is straight outta my head. I was debating on whether or not to color and submit, but zbx was so ecstatic about it that I felt I had no choice.
Plan to do a few more characters like this. It was a good challenge for me.

Looks more like Wario than Mario...but come to think of it, it's more appropriate in the first game:

NOW THAT IS MARIO! blew my mind when you finished... and you blew it again by coloring it. now you have to find the time at work/home to work on the rest of the charaters.
