No.. not exactly. if i remember correctly, it was called "Answer... is the riddle." Anyway...In association with Udon entertainment [link] and Paizo Publishings [link] Mess studios had previlage to work on fantasy book called .Dragon Compendium.

For this particular project we provided over a handful of fantasy paintings, and following talents took part.

What a wonderful picture HOON. I love fantasy stories where Humans and Dragons get on with each other. This looks so fun to actually be there, like they're having a slightly alcohol fuelled story telling session around the campfire. Nice work.

I really like this design. I'm new to deviant thats why a lot of my work is not up yet although I have a couple of comments. I hate to nit pick but the feet are a little ify just the way they're set it looks a little ackward. Then theres the the section where the sholder connects to the neck that area is a little weak. Kind of like it doesn't belong. Last but not least the spot where you chose to place the wing looks like its on the sholder instead of postioned on the blade positioned on the back. I know its a perspective issue but it could use a little work. Other than yet I'm a huge fan of your work I hope creative criticism doesn't upset you very much. I can't wait to see more peace.

The perspective does its job wonderfully... the dragon looms into the sky, dark and immense, its fearsome height conveyed to striking effect. It really feels like you're looking up at the dragon, not at it. You've captured that size in a way I've rarely seen.

Friggin awesome, and thats where I might have said "nuff' said" But this needs more than that! This style is very close to my heart because its like mine, you have nearly every positive comment I can think of! There isnt anything I can think of to better this piece, nicely played!

I think this is one of the best dragon images Iยดve seen in my entire life. He remembers "Darigaaz", the ambicious red dragon from the rpg game cards "Magic-The Gathering", very nice...
I would just call your attention for one minor detail: the feet of this pirate guy. If you could add some darker shadows to the LEFT, it would express much better the idea of the fireplace, as to darken his shadow along the floor as well.

that is a really cool dragon! i like the way you can draw a dragon stroking his chin thoughtfully and still make it believable. plus the perspective and the colors are simply aweeesome!!

Another very nice work... especially the "thoughtful" dragon and the detailing of its coloration of its scales.
