Last time here on DA were a lot of gorgeous shots of Huskys. That reminded me on a very special time in my life:I work for a a cat-aid organisation. This organisation has a cat shelter but it also have families who care for abandoned or motherless kitten. Here they can raise in family atmosphere to become social and beloved cats. I was called for a shooting on such family and what I could see there was gorgeous: At this family kitten were raised with a Husky-pride. It were around 8 dogs and some kitten. Every dog loves the kitten to death and took care of them. You really have to be careful not to grab at the kitten too fast
That was so heart-warming and heart melting and fascinating. A very special moment in my life, cause I usually have a soft spot for cats but at that moment I got a spot for Huskys as well. Very special dogs...Interesting to see was, that the kitten raise bilingual which means that they were able to communicate with dogs and cats. They behave a lot like dogs (flutter their tail when they were happy for example). So every kitten was able to go to a family with dogs (only if the dog dies not see a cat as prey of course) without any problems. So I think we as humans can learn a lot of them cause I think a lot of problems we have is a problem of bad communication as well and I think if even cats and dogs can be friends, it should be possible for us too

That...is such an adorable shot! I just effing love pictures like this, where the bigger, older, and stronger animal takes care of and snuggles with the smaller, younger, and helpless one(s). Especially when the two species aren't usually depicted as getting along with one another.
PS: The husky looks just like Lucifer! I miss that dog so much! ;_;

This one is unique. i love that the two different species are in the photo together, also the fact that that looks like a wolf and some kittens twists your emotions from being frightend to awed.

We recently hand raised a kitten from two and a half weeks old and her brother. We have two large dogs who both and they adored the kittens and now we have the girl kitten still who plays tug of war and who kung-fu duels with our male dog who is about twenty times her size but extroardinarily gentle - even though he's thrashing his mouth around when they tussle he wouldn't ever dream of biting her and they share the same toys (he totes her little mouseys around the house and she plays with the clothes pegs he brings in).
The dogs have been so good especially considering the kittens used to climb in their food bowls when they were eating. O_o
The boy kitten who a friend of mine gave a home to also lives with a dog and the two of them snuggle up together and twine around peoples legs together in the morning.

Maybe some day youΒ΄ll loose your fear of cats like my girlfriend (she was afraid of dogs..). The pride of Huskys convinced her that dogs can be gorgeous creatures too

Can't agree more with you on this subject. However, cats and dogs are a bit different that us humans. We made up stupid rules of how to look, wear and behave instead of following our insticts. And so, problem are being born. But instead of having a powerbalance as the animals have, we seek to kill those who we dislike (at least some of us). But if we would let go of media's way of control and act out our feelings on better ways, perhaps human would be happier?

Of course you can not translate the example one by one to us humans but I think if we would start to talk each other instead of killing We maybe start to think in a different way...
