Description This is my second scanned drawing,I wanted to see how it would look scanned.I drew this two days ago,my dad bought me a drawing book a while back and this is one of the pieces in it.It took about 30 minutes to do,and I learned a few techniques I didn't know about. The book name is 'The art of pencil drawing'-by Gene Franks.I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys drawing with pencils, and would like to learn a few interesting tips.

My father bought me a drawing book a few weeks ago,it's really helpful,I found out a lot interesting things in it.It's called "The Art of Pencil Drawing" by Gene Franks,it's a great book

That was nice of your Father to do that, he obviously supports your art.

Yeah,he does support most of it,some subjects I draw he doesn't agree with, but I don't really show him the drawings that might offend him. He's actually a great artist,I've learned quite a bit from him over the years,I think it's where I picked up my love for art from

Many thanks man!!I tried out a new technique for that,I learned about turning the pencil on it's side,to get the lead at an angle, and kind of do a circular motion,it was pretty cool learning that and a few other cool little tidbits

killerartist95 In reply to HoustonTxArtist [2012-06-02 01:45:18 +0000 UTC]

that sounds like a cool technique! I find that I'm more of a cartoonist than a realist, I don't tend to shade the picture a lot, just enough to look good, and my faces aren't relevant to that of a real human's. but still, it's cool to learn any trick, I somehow lost my love for drawing, I have to get it back over the summer, I haven't been drawing much and when I do, nothing works!!

Don't worry man, you'll get back in that zone againSometimes I get the same way,I kind of lose attention for drawing, with everything going on around me and stuff, but don't lose faith in your artwork ever man, there's a lot of times I get really frustrated, but something always works out.I like the cartoonist style, your style is awesome manI'm hoping to see some more drawings from you this summer!I like all styles really,I'm not too sure what I'd consider myself,I like realism, and cartoons,digital...everything,haha

HoustonTxArtist In reply to MrTristanOne [2012-05-27 02:39:05 +0000 UTC]

Thanks manYeah,I need to get one man,I kind of borrowed one to get these last two scans,I'm thinking this week will be the day finally, finally have the scanner.I did notice it did take away some of the lines, the brightness, but I need to learn how to adjust everything still.Especially behind the starfish, the background lines just dissapeared when I scanned it,I can't even see them now.

MrTristanOne In reply to HoustonTxArtist [2012-05-29 10:13:02 +0000 UTC]

you need software to adjust your colour, brightness, saturation, i have a few programs to help with that, you need to adjust your scanning, all you need is a basic photo editing software, thats why you can't see your starfish you need to adjust your values!
