Since they were children, Orlando made fun of Frances. Initially, it was a child-like mockery to get under her skin, but once puberty began, Frances developed rapidly, Orlando’s taunting elevated. Every day, he’d comment on how big his sister was, and how when her thunder thighs sound louder than a tornado alarm. Frances felt extremely insecure about her body, and the more and more her brother mocked her appearance, the more she hated herself. A once outgoing and positive young woman was belittled to become shy and introverted.

Frances spent more time in her room, reading books to tone out Orlando’s taunts. Every time he walked by, he’d comment. While reading a book one evening, she came across an unknown language with the word “revenge” scribbled on top. Squinting to decipher the text, Frances began to read the passage out loud. When Frances finished, her body jumped, and her vision transferred to someone sitting downstairs. Instinctively she looked down to see the gold necklace her brother wore, but before the realization settled a sharp female shriek filled the empty house.

Frances ran upstairs to see what the commotion, and she arrived at her room to see Orlando in her body, staring at the mirror, a facial expression of shock plastered on his face. He turned around, looking at the body he mocked for years, terrified about what happened.

“You’d think I’d hear you move with those thunder thighs?” Frances mocked back, as Orlando stared back agape. All those years, coming back to haunt Orlando, and Frances was going to like every moment.
