Description Let me provide some context; the season 15 episode Surprise, Surprise was Stanley's first speaking role in the CGI series. For the US, he was voiced by Ben Small, and it carried over onto Day of the Diesels. Three (or four, depending on who you ask) years later, in Samson at Your Service, he was voiced by David Menkin. Not too long after came The Truth About Toby, where he was voiced by Rob Rackstraw, which carried over onto Saving Time. In the same season as Saving Time (20), Stanley's voice changed a third time, and he was voiced by John Schwab in Pouty James. In the UK? Stanley had been consistently voiced by Matt Wilkinson in all his appearances barring The Truth About Toby.

But what's this gotta do with Sweetie Drops/Bon Bon from MLP? Well, in the first two seasons, her voice changed consistently in episodes like Call of the Cutie, Green Isn't Your Color, Lesson Zero, The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000, and Putting Your Hoof Down. We don't know who voiced Bon Bon in each of those episodes, mostly because it was always the main voice actors credited in the end credits for seasons one and two.

My point is that what Stanley and Bon Bon have in common is that they're voice shifters (or as I like to call it, Bonbonitis), changing their voices depending on the episode. However, in the case of Bon Bon and her human counterpart, beginning with Slice of Life, she appears to have Andrea Libman as her permanent voice actress. So, if a background pony is able to get a permanent voice, why can't they give Stanley a permanent voice of his own? That's probably his most frustrating quirk in the CGI series (at least for the US dub) - the inability to find a good enough voice for him.

Not meant to cause anyone offense; just something I wanted to point out.

Ok. So WRR (Rob) did a stream of "The Great Discovery" on YouTube a while back, and during the scene where Thomas is being taken away to be repaired, the narrator said, "Welcome Stanley!"
This tweet from one of the meme creators describes the meme best: twitter.com/wrreviews/status/7…

It came from a live stream broadcasted by Robert Magee (WoodenRailwayReviews) in which he reviewed The Great Discovery. When the iconic phrase was read out by Pierce, he laughed out loud because he always idolised Pierce Broasnan for being the badass James Bond we all know and he thought he was being too overjoyed when he read he line. It was as if Stanley was being treated as a great hero but we knew very little about him so we couldn't see why he was being praised like a god.
