I find this so interesting as it has stirred in me my shildhood days. I remember how picked on some people were. When asked in class what one of those picked upon would become, the reply came back 'serial killer'. While half -joking, there was a sense that we knew that the impressions others made of us would have a deep impact on our psyche long after school days have ended.
What I take from this image is the splt between the impression given of school to parents, and our 'warm glow/best days of our lives' recollections against the harsher realities of fear in its many forms.
The abstact framing is well achieved here, and I actually really like the colours of the school photo, but I am not sure about whether you should have carried those across into the other elements, or as you have done, broken away into different shades.
This piece does stir a great deal. I like.

I'm not too happy with the colors. I'll probably try to adjust them a bit later.

I'll explain my thought process behind this. Though , most of the time , the symbolism in my pieces arent thru concious effort. Not only until the piece is finished do i really make the connection. This is no exception. I think it works best for me.

A few of the kids I grew up with, some of whom were really good friends, have been in pretty serious trouble with the law. They made a series of horrible decisions that they can never take back.
It's interesting how innocent everyone is when they are children, but even the worst of human beings were dancing happily around the playground when they were young. But somewhere along the way, something got really f*cked up and they ruined not only their lives, but the lives of innocent people.

The text could symbolize the end of childhood...the white line being aninteruption in the normally joyful nursery rhyme. I've also realized that the line in a way pierces the rhyme.
The screaming mouth is a forshadow of the future. Inside these tiny little bodies are bigger, more diabolical things.

I enjoy analyzing the text; I've come up with about 2 or 3 possible interpretations, none of which are substanially supported. Reaching my own conclusions is nice, although frustrating.

My determination: It's a depiction/portrait of a serial killer preying upon kids.
Reasoning:
1). not many (if any) children intentionally determine that they want to become serial killers when they grow up
2). "screaming" mouth
3). the way portions of the text is abruptly terminated, repeated (metaphor/simile/correlation=death of kids?)
Overall assessment: Extremely thought-provoking. Arguably disturbing. Fantastic.
