i tried to give a jolting effect on the background, and also introduce a strong beam of light (it normally signals some intense thought in anime...). this picture took me a surprisingly long time, just because i had to duplicate, rotate and change the opacities of layers many times...

i've tried to use different styles of depicting speed for each of the panels.
