More fanart? Yup.I got some watercolor supplies recently, and what better way to break them in than draw one of the coolest shinigami ever?
I picked up some pretty heavy cotton-based paper from the art room before leaving the Career Center forever... and set to work on this about 2 weeks ago.
Although I have a ton of free time, it's hard for me to find the will to do art now. It's really problematic since I have so much I need to do, though! I've gotta finish ~Paimonerra 's art trade, do some avvy art for ~zeldaalchemist for catching my unofficial kiriban, and a chibi bonus pic of Gorrex for *Crimson-Jazz for being my first commission client.
That's not including all the projects I have planned for myself, scholarship crap.... it's all really dizzying. *sigh*
Anyway! I really feel like using this deviation as a journal, since a lot is going on, but I'll wait to type all that later. This summer should be pretty exciting for me.
K, so picture stuff now!
It's Ryuk from Deathnote, pretty simple. He is holding an apple because he luffs them. :]
The pose was pretty hard to work out, and a lot of pen work went into this before I even thought of coloring it.
The composition looks tons better in person, trust me.
Anyway- yay! No obtrusive watermark this time. That being said... no art thievery please! It's usually a problem with fanart, so I hope that doesn't happen.
Yeah... um.

Killing a human by means other than a death note was against the rules, but I remember no rule saying you couldn't choose who you want to kill based on your own opinion of that person. I even remember an early rule saying that a shinigami was allowed to stay in the human world to stalk a human they wanted to kill. Game Fuel does need to be brought back, but I don't think facebook can do it. Your brain is safe, don't worry. I have 5 and 6 of Chobits and I bought Rosario and Vampire now.

Facebook can't really do much... but gamefuel is pretty radtastical, so I'm sure it will make a comeback soon. Maybe if they release a new Halo game...

I wouldn't care about Halo unless it brings back Game Fuel. Even then, I would just stock up on Game Fuel, totally ignoring the fact that another Halo game came out.

Careful, you almost didn't mention Deathnote in that last comment. We need to keep at least a little on topic. Splosiondeath'd Light's dad shall happen, teh Oracle has foreseen it. Halo is constantly overrated. This comes as no surprise. It is maybe the only game worth buying for the XBOX, exception to the few DDR games that came out for it.

In the Deathnote fanflash, Mello was splosioning everything. That's mostly the reason I am so confident in my prediction of splosiondeath. You forgot Knights of the Old Republic as a game worth buying for Xbox. How do you know how many I's to put in Chiiiiiing?

Splosiondeath is quite possibly one of the coolest words we've come up with. I shall have to start making a list of these.
I am not familiar with that game, but if you say so, then it probably is worth it. Dead Rising for 360 was also worthwhile.

I understand, laziness is a problem I too face often. You needed to start that list of words about 6 years ago probably. KOTOR is a Starwars game for Xbox, and from what I've heard it was good. I's variable to offer variety, that does not really say much. My sister says that Mr. Beard says that having you back in his class in a girls body would be interesting.

Well, we stayed on the deathnote topic a lot longer than I thought we would. It's still an achievement. If those darn aliens weren't so lazy Rome could have been so much more badass. Wow. I like the way you seem to bring out grittiness with the agitated use of the paint (ink?) My favorite part is the contrast on the white wing. It's well thought out.

Lol, I was really agitated at the cheap brushes I bought... they kept shedding and I had to pick out the hairs! Lol, but really I just drybrush, and do kind of the same technique with watercolors I guess.
The wing wasn't supposed to be as white as it looks, but I guess that turned out for the better.

Anyway, I think this is a brilliantly done picture of him. 8D The coloring is great. His pose looks good too. And I like how the apple is about the only thing with some actual color to it. That's really cool. :3

Crazy awesome! I loooove all the little details in the outfit, the swirls in the bark, the slightly jagged and unkempt look of the feathers, etc. I also like how there is just a little bit of wing poking out of the top of the border box.
The use of watercolor splatters to draw the eye into the lighter colored focus of the picture which is the apple is genius too. A++ my friend.
