For those who don't know this Mexican Telenovela: Marimar is a Mexican Telenovela about a rags to riches girl that seeks revenge against the family of her husband for her arrest and the murders of her grandparents.

About Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde: The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a novella written in 1866 by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson. Regarded as one of the foremost Sci-Fi, Gothic, Horror and Fantasy Sensation books. Through the narrative of London lawyer G.J. Utterson, we are told the story of Dr. Henry Jekyll and the strange occurrences between him and the murderous criminal Edward Hyde.

How I would make it work: The plot of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde characters Gabriel John Utterson and Dr. Hastie Lanyon would be incorporated into the characters of Bristol Chief Inspector Isambard Barnaby and Dr. Leonidas Beaumont, 2 old friends of Crown Prosecutor Gustavo Aldama. After the arrival of his daughter Marimar, now referred to as Belle Aldama, a swries of strange crimes rock the city. After Dr. Beaumont's fiancé and Gustavo's sister Dr. Hope Aldama adopts a mysterious young man named Nigel Hyde, everyone notices Belle acting strangely towards Nigel, but when Gustavo is murdered, the former reveals himself as Marimar's missing husband, Thomas Sergio Santibañez. As the story progresses and the crimes include murders, Inspector Barnaby and Dr. Beaumont must train Nigel into a relentless Police officer to determine the identity of Gustavo's murderer.
