Description
The luscious, firm green skin glistened under the cool water that poured off of it's surface. Water beaded on nature's work of art; on my smooth and flawless hands.Eyeing this orb that had fallen from the sky onto Newton, I realised how precious it was, how extraordinarily unearthly it was. A gift from God, truly.
What fleshy fruit was concealed under the tantalising surface? What taste awaited me, to make my mouth scream in ecstasy? What smell was there, to draw me from my dark slumber and into the kitchen to admire the many gifts it could create?
It had it's uses, from pies to cider, from tarts to butter, from cake to chutney; and yet somehow I enjoyed it in it's most simplest form.
This orb had fallen from the skies, surely for us to find, for us to thank the heavens for such a wonderful fruit.
The original sin, apples have evolved into much more then just a forbidden fruit. They are music to my ears and heaven to my taste.
