Description
I'm starting off with a bang. This is one of my best ignored works. The importance of this update is that this new image has been processed with a negetive scanner giving me huge detail and tonal variations while retaining detail. My old version was too contrasty.
This was shot on Kodak TMAX 100 film. Not my fave film but it did the job. Sepia tone was added in photoshop.

I absolutely love it! This is the stuff I live for! Good job!
Only thing I would have changed in this shot is /maybe/ bouncing a little bit of light to her face, but that's just my idea. Wonderful!

wonderful! great contrast, lovely sepia tones, though it's hard to see the composition because it's so big

Like many above, I think this is a wonderful piece of art. So many shrink from exploring true beauty and instead go for eroticism or impact. This is a study in the beauty of a woman plain and simple. The touches added by the lighting, background sepia all do nothing at all but accentuate that, as they should. This is a stunning, moving piece.

Excellent use of shadows, it adds alot of class and charm to the portrait. You picked a great model also, she has the bone structure fitting for a "classical" woman. Very nice.

The detail is absolutely amazing and the balance between darkness and light is very well captured. There's truly something very elegant and old about this. Beautiful photo.

I love the way she radiates beauty although the light on her face is dim...

Yeah the light control in this pic's amazing, the way you use a second light to lit the background creating the silhouette for the front of her face perfectly.
The main light source's also greatly position to just refine that subtle detail of her cheekbone, amazing!!! >_

Beautifully captured. Genius really, especially the lighting. I love how the soft curves of her face are accented. The composition is wonderful as well. Sorry for my current lack of words.

I like this, it looks like a woman posing for one of the pendants carved out of that white stone and set against an oval background.. nice..

Great photo. Good lighting... I love how half her head is lit, and the rest is a silhouette with a perfect outline of her face.
And what about the film isn't your fav? The speed or the type?

Reminds me of a Greek goddess. The sepia tone is perfect for this image, as well as her face being in shadow--leaves more to the imagination.

It's a shame. What is? All is!!
First of all that you have put up such an massive impressive picture and ONLY gained 6 comments.
Second that you have only put 4 deviations online.
Third that you have only so little visitors (but I think that will change alot with your current DD on 'Crystal Green Burst' - first proof of it is right here ).
But, I'll get back to this image. I really LOVE the lighting, composition and Sepia toning of this one. Shere beauty!
I've got two (minor) points of critique though; first: the advantage of using film and negative scanners, is that you can get an absolute crisp image. This one is not. You do see alot of detail, but it isn't as crisp and sharp as it can be. Digital photographers I forgive, for equipments sake, but this can be done better. However, there is a solution; scale the image a bit down in Photoshop and then add filter sharpen/unsharp mask to it (settings 180, 0, 0). That should help alot
Second point: next time, use REAL leafs; this is so cheap.
Still, this one goes straight into my 's

This is beautiful! The sepia tone really gives this a classic feel, and the shadows work really well here, to transform fine detail into a silhouette profile. Very sensual (necks usually are.. ), and nice model

Hm. This wasn't as big as the previous comment said. Fit nicely on my screen!
Anyway, I adore this shot. The texture of her skin is beautiful. I love the outline of her lips and the shadow on her face.
Beautifully captured!!

I think it should be slightly smaller. I had to scroll to get the whole face in. hehe. and actually, I still didn't. just a tad bit..myabe 1200Xwhatever...? or 1500Xwhatever?
I like the detial here. you can see the goosbumps. lol. first thing I noticed.
I like her position...and the necklace. i also like the contrast, and how the background is so plain, and aparently roughly the same shade as her, but she still stands out so well.
The choice of having her face to the darkness adds a nice touch. most people turn away to "hide" or to embrase the darkness.
it's a great piece. i don't know why people haven't commented yet. just put it on your featured...do a lot of commenting...and you'll probably eventually get your breakthrough? I guess that sounds depressing. lol. but it's a great photo.
