Another addition to KomradApex 's wonderfully helpful series in which can be located here . Remember to read my other addition about the important of research in the making of your character which can be read here as well.

Today, we will be discussing ways to create an unique character design for your very own pasta, whether it be your very first or one that you really want to add to your pasta collection. This includes the researching addition which I have linked above for your viewing pleasures if you need more insight on that.

Where do we start?

Now, first we need to decide what our pasta is going to be as. What species or occupation do they take into this dark world of madness and monsters? How do they fit in the misfit society of the CP world? Are they a demon or killer? Ghost or a individual who has darker powers within their mind? These questions are important to ask as you flesh out the basic concepts of your OC.

Here are my tips:
If you are doing a murderer/ killer OC, I advise to look up True crime cases. See how the mind of a killer can differ from case to case. I even advise to look up traits of famous serial killer criminal profiles such as Ed Gein or H. H. Holmes. EX: Zodiac Killer, Jack the Ripper, Ed Gein, H. H. Homes, Smiley Killer..and any recent homicide offenders..etc

For ghost or undead characters, I advise for you to look up these different things
Suicide methods and motives (For suicide victims) EX: Suicidal hanging, Bleeding Out/Wrist Cutting, Overdose, Suicidal Drowning..etc.
Judicial execution methods (For example, my OC Hangman is a ghost of a man who was unjustly hung for a crime he never did) EX: Hanging, Firing squad, Lethal injection, Beheading...etc.
Look up different murder cases for details of death (if your OC is a homicide victim.) EX: Hitjob, Gun-wounds, Stabbings, Blunt Trauma, Repeated hits by a blunt object...etc.
Maybe the person in question died on accidental terms or was dead due to nature or any other means. EX: Death by animals, Death by Cold, Death by Fire, Drowning..etc.

If your OC is Demonic or anything supernatural, Look up myths, religious beliefs, and any sort of legends in general. EX: Banshee, Demons, Gods, Werewolves, Incubus, Succubus, Vampire....etc.

Maybe your OC is a human. What do to now? Well maybe they fall in the killer/murderer category. Maybe they have some weird ability that outcasts them from the rest of society. Maybe they are someone who is mentally unstable or is treated as scum. Have fun with the possibilities! EX: Stephan King's Carrie, Norman Bates, American Horror Story..etc. Also look up various psychic abilities or supernatural abilities.
Oh cool! Now I got my basic idea down but I don't know where to start on design! Please help!

Look at your OC. What are they? Maybe what they are can inspire what they look like as well.

For a murderer, maybe they have urban clothes taken from the bins of the street since they are on the run or they have their clothes tattered and worn due to wearing them for days on end.

For a ghost, maybe they are in their clothes that they died in or where their clothes that they were dressed in at their funeral. Same goes for undead OCs.

Anything goes for supernatural and human OCs. You can design the demons/monsters as they are as a species and for humans, make them unique to what they are in their background!

You can also look inside your Ocs background setting and take inspiration from that. If they live in a city, look up city styles. Country and suburban styles differ too so if you have any of these as your choice of setting, have fun looking up clothing.

Just remember: No Pasta can function with revealing, impractical clothing such as high heels, mini skirts, hose, short dresses etc. Especially when they kill! Its kinda hard to run from the law and not be seen with high heels ya know?

Ok..got a design and the overall idea..but I need to work out information!

My Overall Tips:

Research different combinations of names and or unique nicknames. For the pasta name, look at what position they were at (Ex: Soothsayer (or Eupheme) was a oracle so she's called Soothsayer due to this), methods of killing victims (Ex: Hangman is named for his tendencies to hang victims with his noose), or nicknames given due to their appearance (Slender Doll is a nickname to Ally due to her Slenderbeing abilities and doll like appearance). You can also use their first name only if its unique or bizarre (Ex: Ravon Whitechapel uses her name Ravon instead of a nickname)

Each species of pasta has different abilities. Ghosts tend to have transparency, zombies have immunity to poisons or fatal wounds etc. This goes for weaknesses as well. Demons have a natural weakness to holy objects, undead is weak to fire..etc. The possibilities are endless!
Appearances can be updated to modern times if your OC is from a time long past also! Soothsayer is dressed in modern clothing such as shorts, jacket and shoes even though she is from Ancient Greece originally.
