I've always been interested in Jack the Ripper case. With this painting, I've made it very dark to achieve what I believe the streets would have looked like in that era and of course placed in the well-known silhouette of the mysterious Jack as he disappears down a foggy alley after claiming a victim. Whitechapel clearly wasn't the nicest area of London and it comes as no surprise to me that he, whoever Jack the Ripper was, got away with what he did. The case is so enigmatic and has always stuck with me, ever since I first discovered it when I was thirteen.
