Name: Pearl
Gender: Female (she/her)
Age: Middle-aged adult
Species: Gray wolf
Affiliation: Pack of Dark Stones

Personality: Pessimistic, overbearing, short-tempered, short-sighted, skeptical, impatient
Description: Pearl doesn't talk that much, but when she does it is usually just to voice her disapproval with things. She's a valued asset to the Pack, being one of its top hunters. She's friends with Ktea and Snow-white and loves her daughter Katie, whom she shows favoritism towards in comparison to to her other daughter, Umium. Pearl was also the wolf who carried Maggie for Zrin and Onor because the two males couldn't conceive pups together, however she doesn't consider her her family and instead strictly sees her as her student.
Physical description: Pearl is a tawny she-wolf with a short coat, yellow eyes, a long tail and a roman nose. Her ears are rounded and she is slightly larger and bulkier than the average she-wolf.

Pearl is one of the characters that appeared in the OG version of Dark Stones all the way back in 2010-11. She was always more of a background character, though, and to an extent still is in the current version, though she has more of a personality. She's a bit standoffish, but all the same a pretty good wolf, just one with flaws. She's the largest she-wolf in the Pack if you don't count Snow-white or Ktea. Maybe Pearl is even distantly related to them since they do share a slightly similar physique? I don't know.

Pearl is also Maggie's biological mother, not that that matters. Since Onor and Zrin are an AMAB gay couple, they couldn't have pups, so Pearl carried Maggie for them (Zrin being the biological father). It also shows in some of Maggie's traits (mostly the markings, brownish coat and rounded ears). Pearl is also the mother of Katie and Umium (and did actually raise them), so I guess technically that makes Maggie sisters with them. Who their father is: not the slightest idea. I'm purposefully keeping most character's parentage vague for now unless it's relevant to the story. Pearl is loosely modeled after several Balto characters, namely the Wolf Quest background wolves, a little bit of Aniu and a tiny bit of Dusty.
