Meet Inke, the Freeh and Leaby, the trusted scriber. She represents the way I perceive art as the playful yet substantial definition of creativity and freedom. Its when things seem dark that art lights my way. An unabashed manifestation of what's hidden within the corners of imagination. She may look cute, very young and cuddly and fun, curious and out to she the world, and she is! A traveler and seeker of fun and excitement. She has Leaby by her side as always, the personified and animated companion on her journey. Leaby lights and marks their path, records what's nice and isn't, but most of all, Leaby helps Inke create the images from her imagination. Leaby can be a paintbrush, a pen, a nib, a pencil, a pliant loosey-leaf giving Inke a ride when she is pondering things and lost in thought. Inke creates her images (no need for a paper, Leaby always remembers what Inke has made) and gives them life and shares with her friends and companions, although sometimes when things are tough, the images she creates will fade and become just pigments of the imagination. Inke and Leaby are always travelling (I mean despite what's happening all around now - no mask, no shield and all), because they are free. Free to do what they want, free to create, free to dream and ... just free.
