Description

This is an illustration for a fanfic I wrote. (It's a moment from Chapter 9) I did a limited selection of scenes from the fic as comic pages in order to test out different methods and styles of making comic pages. This is not and will never be a full comic adaptation of the fic! There are just a few one-off pages that don't directly connect! (also some miscellaneous illustrations) I know there are a lot of full fic-to-comic projects on dA and this is not one of them. I do not have the patience, frankly, and I admire those who do.

This page is being posted out of order because I forgot about it and I probably selectively forgot about it because I didn't like how the attempt at pencil lineart turned out. Also, scenery/landscapes are not my strong point in general but these are particularly bad. And that's why this is in scraps.

In this chapter Gollum is wandering around in Minas Tirith and ends up having an awkward conversation with this little random girl who has decided he's interesting and won't leave him alone. Eventually her mother shows up and is not too thrilled. She (the mother) asks Gollum to come back to her home for a glass of water, which is partly a ruse to keep him around long enough for her husband- who turns out to be a guard- to get a look at this sketchy thing that's wandering around the city and have a chance to do something about it. I say 'partly a ruse' because they really do give him a drink of water, that wasn't a lie or anything. She just has ulterior motives for offering.

This part of the awkward conversation happens while he's following the girl and her mother back to the house.
