Isn't it a shame how a canon EOS cant make higher resolution picture than 800x600. And sure, encourage this with loads of faves. who wants to share anyway?

Actually, the original resolution of this photo and any other photo this canon EOS can make is 4272x2848.

What was your point? That I could have uploaded the original resolution? What for exactly?

yes, to share at highest possible resolution.
what exactly is the reason not to?

That would defy the purpose of selling my photos as prints...

And this, is where art is defeated by commercialism and become a product without a slightest thought of its original purpose

So what you're saying is that academically trained artists should give out their art for free and pay bills with what? With the original purpose of art?

No, that's what commissions are for. Also, what makes you think it wouldn't sell if you upload the full size?
every now and then, there should be a piece what is created for its own shake, without restrictions to increase its economical value.
Or it isn't worth it?
I'm not sure what academical training have to do with arts.

The fact is that if someone can download a photo in full size it means he can make a print himself or even resell the file claiming it as his own. So why would anyone pay for it?
Every photo I have ever taken or any other kind of art I have ever made was created for its own sake and not for the purpose of making money. The fact that I decided to sell that art has nothing to do with it.
What does academical training have to do with arts? Well, everything if you're training to become some kind of an artist. But I wanted to point out that people go to school to become artists and they make a living out of it.. And that it would be ridiculous if they gave their art for free.

So, you think we should sit on our piles of artworks and throwing money to each other hoping what we get, is worth more, than what we gave?
Well, I'm glad to be part of those ridiculous people who offers free content over the internet. And I'm sure you never enjoyed a single free wallpaper available high res enough to be printed.
People will pay for art what they like, or order. In either case, using restrictions makes them pay for the physical artwork. Giving it away, yet allowing ways to buy it, makes your talent valuable.
Being afraid someone claims your artwork is like worrying about losing your talent. Isn't it more where it's come from?
Your photos may have been created for their own shake, but the way you publish them, blur that thought.
Once an artworks becomes accessible it lose it's value? Or talent comes in small pieces with a price tag on each of them?
Hopefully the people who go to art school do it, to polish their skills, and not just on a sole purpose to turn it into money.
