Samus: I dont know... it appears humanoid.Chief: Well, its dead now. Good shot, Gordon.
Freeman: I do what I can.
I'm a bad bad girl ^^ I wasted office time drawing this. In my defense, I wasted it over a period of two weeks. I just finished it today.
Drawn in TVPaintAnimation, which for an animation program, has some fantastic brushes to play with. I messed with a lot of layers and opacities, it was a lot of fun.
I still say that the Chief, Samus and Gordon would never fight each other. I think they'll become a fantastic alien-fighting trio. Unfortunately they seemed to have killed the cameraman right now. I really like that we're the victim in this pic... and it let me play with perspective, although I don't think I got it quite right... oh well, we're woozy from that clunk on the head.

That's a reference to one of the endings in the original Metroid in which Samus take off her suit and reveals that she is woman while wearing a bikini.
And everyone really did think she was a guy (some thought she was a male cyborg) until after they saw that ending. It didn't help that Nintendo never bothered correcting anyone leaving the gamers to find out the truth on their own. Cue mass-shock and dropped jaws.
I bet the developers got a kick out of that little bait-and-switch.

Gordon Freeman is from the Halflife series, also an excellent FPS if you're a fan of the other two games

One other thing, I noticed you seemed to like the idea of MC&Samus...
Personnaly, I don't think John (the Chief) can fall in love.
I'm not sure Samus can either, but it's possible I could be wrong about her.

I think John is a human being with all the human emotions normal people have. I think he can fall in care, and I believe he's a compassionate guy. I don't think he'd ever court a girl, but I don't think him cold, not by a long shot.

He only has three ways of dealing with people: If they were his superiors, he obeyed them; if they were his comrades, he supported them; if they were his enemies, he neutralised them.
He does not know how to interact with civilians.
You're right about him being able to care. His fellow Spartans are his family, his brothers and sisters. He is their leader. He took it extremely hard when he was 14 and of his 72 Spartans, 40 of them died when they were physically augmented. Some of them were brutally deformed and suffered things such as Parkinson's.
He thought he screwed up when there was nothing he could have done.

I can tell you're very opinionated about this, but I can't agree with you. All the things you listed for reasons why he he'd be emotionless are the same examples I would use to prove he's a human being, so we will probably never agree. I firmly believe there's a man behind the helmet, so much that I've written a fanfic and a nearly 200 page webcomic on the subject, so I hope you understand and agree to disagree.

I thought it was very tasteful the way they did it in Helljumper, I always get a twinge of fear when I read about possibly showing the Chief out of uniform. If they gave him a face now it would ruin the great enigma they've built for him, plus I don't think any Halo fans would be happy with a canon mug after spending so many years with their own mental pictures of what he looks like
