Yeah, that was silly... people didn't even bothered to read the story, try to check the background of this scene, or even just read the card!
I understand some people can be susceptible to this kind of images, but really that's not Wizards or James fault, this image has it's reasons to be this way, that's just people taking this artwork completely out of context.

The same scene could certainly have been depicted without sexualizing the female figure being victimized. Magic art generally is good about staying away from overly sexualizing victims, portraying "damsels in distress," and so on. Liliana's clearly not helpless here, when the whole context is considered and seeing her clearly prepared to fight back, but the positions of the figures and general tone of the image is something that strongly resonates with many women for whom sexual assault is a very real threat, and a reminder of that in their escapist fantasy world is very discomforting. Changing the image to be less on-the-nose with regard to that could have portrayed the same situation without alienating or discomforting those people. Trying to keep this sort of thing in mind doesn't take anything away from the people for whom it doesn't affect, and it does a lot of good for those whom it does.

Yes, she was "asking for it". If you curse someone with a spell, expect them to come and beat you up until you get rid of the curse. She doesn't get a pass because she is a woman. The only people who see this as "rape" are the ones who want to be offended. Another example of sexism in society I suppose that people are so up in arms over this card art when you don't hear a peep out of them about the many cards where a woman is defeating a male foe.

yeah, they also yelled "RAPE." People dont understand that it isnt sexist unless they themselves have sexist thoughts. Equality for women also means fights. Especially in the multiverse for a woman who used to work for a powerful demon and who cursed Garruk.

Considering she tainted Garruk with the Veil's curse, I think he's got the right to be pissed, but I am sure she can easily work her way out of it.

Consort of demons, slayer of angels, & commander of the undead hordes. Yeah I think she has a good shot at stomping the weakened beast mage. I but she could be nice & take the curse off, buuuuut she did curse him in self-defense to be fair. He shouldnt have been messing with her. Itd be like pissin off a poisonous animal & getting bitten/sting, now you gotta live with the consequences for being dumb.

From what I have read I don't know if she has slayed any angels, but she did sell her soul to 4 demons for eternal youth and power. making a grab for, and getting, the veil was her way of reneging on the deal.
Funniest thing I remember was before she started looking for the demons she made the deal with was that Nicol Bolas had approached her with "I'll deal with the demons if you agree to work for me." Her response was in a nutshell "I'd rather deal with the 4 demons."

With this new set my mono-black demon deck has been kicked into hyper aggro. It butchers people long before they can even do anything threatening. the highest cost anything in that deck is a mere 5 cost & 95% of the creatures are unblockable or have flying. Its an extremely fast & tough deck.

I can imagine, I have a lady-friend who I correspond with was running a Pestilence based deck with Pestilence Demon and Stuffy Doll combo.

well If you have Hatred in you had & you manage to land one hit on your opponent you win [link] . An awesome 3 card infinite mana & creature combo is Rakka Mar, Iron Myr, & Intuder Alarm. youll have infinite red mana & 3/1 elementals with haste. if you want more mana colours add another Myr
