Aww, thanks You should give it a try anyway! Pixel art is really fun ^^ you should check out the little application I linked in another comment, called MC SkinEdit. It really helps make it easier to see what you're doing when skinning!

Check here: [link] That will give you the default skin to work with, and a place to upload your custom one.

For extra help, check out my reply to another person a few comments down - I explained in detail how to get the extra layer on the head (where I put the hood and hair pieces) as well as a link to a useful program someone made that makes it easier to see what you're doing while you're pixelling.
