A creature that human beings can barely perceive inflicts a cosmic malady upon an unwitting rural New England farmer and his family. The “Colour” can be seen rising from the well of the Gardner family’s farm under a starry, meteor-streaked sky where “the hills rise wild west of Arkham”.
