Cakepops takes place so long after the end of Muffins/Cupcakes that the original bakers are considered an old mares tale, simply a myth to scare foals into behaving. However the Elements of Harmony are praised and anyone who is a descendant of them is held in very high regard. Except Laughter as it is believed to be part of the baker's myth.

Prism is the descendant of RainbowDash and is desperate to live up to the name, constantly being meaner than they should to cover it up, they dye their hair rainbow to fit closer to it.
MoonDrop is the descendant of Twilight, she is obsessed with the Baker's myth, often isolating herself and snapping at others when interrupted.
HoneyCrisp is the descendant of AppleJack, She is just has hard working but cares more about her appearance than her descendant implies.
MarbleDream is the descendant of Rarity, She is proper but snobbish, she believes she is better than other ponies due to her bloodline.
SweetIvy is the descendant is FlutterShy, they remain shy and quiet and just as sweet, but they honestly dislike the others due to their sour attitudes.
Technically Toffee and Spook's mother, SugarHoof, is the true descendant of the Element of Laughter, however she is the embodiment of the exact opposite.

ToffeeSwirl, and SpookSong are just friends of the group, mostly for the free sweets that the bakers give out, while DuskFall was friends with the group during their Zenith days, before they learned of their bloodlines.
