Description One of the geysers in the Midway Geyser Basin, Yellowstone National Park. This whole area of Yellowstone was amazing. There were so many geysers, so many colors, so many smells and a lot of heat from the steam. The photo does no justice to the actual colors of these amazing wonders.

Another photo from this day.

I can't recommend it enough. I will get back one day. I need a bear, moose, coyote and wolf shot. Mountain goats and rams would be cool. So basically, I missed everything.

Lensrentals.com

There are many options there. I was VERY pleased.

Ill have to look into it. I was looking at borrowlenses.com but they have a weird rule that you cant ship the lens to a location unless that shipping location is listed on your credit card. Oh well.

Oh, I don't remember reading that with Lensrentals. They even sent it early and didn't start the contract until a day later I believe. It was a very pleasant experience.

I had no idea these places existed either, trust me. Everywhere we went, I kept thinking it couldn't get any prettier and I just kept getting surprised around every corner. If there is a way in the world you can make it, do it. It is more than worth it.

My husband loves to move to new places and in between he loves to travel so I'm sure that one day I will make it there. I just wonder if it will be soon enough to see the unspoiled beauty in your shot!

Ahhhh, well hopefully it will be soon. They do a lot as far as conservation and recycling, etc. but its all up to the people to help out. Hopefully the things they teach everyone there goes home with them so they can carry those efforts on back home as well.

Traveling is the best!

Sometimes it's the wildlife too. I was in a beautiful park a week ago and was fretting about the garbage that was left in a couple of places despite the trash can being close by. It didn't take long before a couple of squirrels came out of the trash can with a mouthfull. The funniest part was that they took it to the picnic table to eat, left the wrappers and went back to the garbage can for more! I sent the county a note saying that they need to get some lids on those cans.

Yeah, The cool thing about Yellowstone is that everything is on lockdown. All cans have lids, etc. But hello! Its bear country. I can't imagine it NOT being like that. lol

chalutplease In reply to jayshree [2009-08-27 11:09:03 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, my parents live in Canadian Bear Country (and moose, deer, big fish, etc.) and they can't even put bird feeders out because the bears will tear down the fence to get at it. They also have a problem in the closest town because they're coming at all hours of the day and night to try and get in the dumpsters behind the stores regardless of the fact that they have lids. There's been more than one employee surprised by a bear as they take the garbage out!

Yeah, I would probably crap myself if I saw one and wasn't anticipating it. I didn't get to see any bears on my trip. That bummed me out, but it just means I need to go back.

chalutplease In reply to jayshree [2009-08-27 23:43:46 +0000 UTC]

That's basically what my mother said when she saw it come through the bush behind her place, tear out the chainlink fence and steal her bird feeder all while standing in a solarium made of glass!

After that they went and bought commercial grade chainlink that is very tall. They also dug down to bury the bottom and encase it in cement hoping that will hold up against a bear. So far so good.

It sounds like you had fun so going back would be a good thing.
