Finding food in December can be a difficult job for a heron, though an even more difficult period is to come.Taken near Eindegooi/The Netherlands.

What sharp looking birds they are. We have a lot of them here too. I had one in the pond down from my house once in fact. This chap looks cold, I know I feel that wayjust looking at him.

The Heron is normally a nervous bird he must have had his meal in site to stay for you to take this lovely shot Jurgen !
