After months of thought and work, here it is. Personally, I like the Dragon-side more than the Flying-side, but hey.

Honestly, the Flying side eluded me for months. All I knew is that it was going to have Dragonite's wings. Beyond that, the only certainties I had regarding it were that it was going to have the feelers and that it wasn't going to have the horn. Eventually, I settled on the idea of a flying serpent. The stage was set, but I just needed a serpent. And that's where Dragonair came in. I went ahead and included a version with Dragonair's colors (the shiny, I guess?) just for kicks. Personally, I think that version is more pleasing, what with its body and wing color contrast.

The Dragon side is something that I really enjoy. I did a lot of research on the European and Japanese water dragons that went into Dragonite's design to find possible parts to add. Everything on that sprite, from the horn, to Gyarados's tail, to the fin and the snout were a product of that research. (Though, the Dratini fins came at the suggestion of a few close friends, both of whom I have to thank immensely for their patience with this project).
