very first thank you for you comment! i wish i would get more of comments like that.
the big blue curved line at the bottom of the render was done in max too. when i got the piece finish i asked my self why i didnt do the big tentacle in max too. i think it would be much better but as you maybe know you can make a piece one time, if you try to do something similar (a second version) it will never turned out as the same pic so i can tell you that only the background, typo and the tentacles are done in photoshop. everything else is done in max

with the splash brushes,..mh. i think its a question of the personal taste, i like them much and i think it gives the render a little bit more detail instead without those splashes. also its a good contrast between the smoothness in the pic, and maybe its the meaning of "nullflow" i wanted to place something in the pic wich i havent seen in any abstract works, thats the reason i worked with this splash textures wich i made first in photoshop and import them then in max.
i think your right in that point that the splashes block a little bit the flow, i could add some smooth swirls or curves instread of the splashe to underline the flow.

Wow, that is a stunning piece of work. And not the sort of stunning where I think 'that's stunning' but where I am actually stunned!
To me its like a cross between a schmick vector illustration and graffiti that has come to life and really exists somewhere.
