Description
I debated uploading this for a few reasons. One of them being the terrible quality of the scan. But I'm a little sick of seeing nothing but faces staring back at me on this gallery so... I'll put it here now. This was done for my son, part of a series of paintings depicting my chidlren's hopes and dreams. First, he LOVED the movie 'up', hence the balloon type imagery. Second, he wants to be a bug scientist when he grows up. So this is my oldest boy, off exploring bugs as a bug scientist/adventurer.
Done in colored pencils and watercolors.

TThat kids imagination is too big for my screen. Lovely, reminds me of when I used to dream about flying with bugs.

This is a beautiful representation of the idea you were trying to capture. You have one of the bugs that scares the totickers out of me on there but with the beauty of the over all picture it doesn't bother me.
I think it would be a great piece of artwork for a child's story book. Lovely job, I'm sure that he is thrilled to receive it from you.
Your a great mother and a great artist and You have been for the..7 years I have known you. Wow, seven years!
Your amazing keep it up!

Oh, one more comment- the more I look at this the more it reminds of that part in Winnie the Pooh where he's flying around with the balloons covered in mud singing "i'm just a little black rain cloud"

this made me think of james and the giant peach by roald dahl, when they catch the seagulls to lift the peach. (that and there's giant bugs, which are always fun.
