I drew up some cute little mythical creatures for one of my classes, so I figured I'd post them. C:(Sorry it's a little bit blurry, but I'm done fussing with it!)
And I've recently adopted the enfield as my new crest, because it was originally the crest of my family (the Kellys). C:

Yes, the griffin is part eagle part lion; I suppose it is a little confusing, being so simplified. There's also the hippogriff, which is part eagle part horse.

Well, it's a hybrid mix of a fox (head), greyhound (chest), eagle (front legs), lion (body), and wolf (back end). Some Irish families called Kelly adopted the enfield as their family crest. Their main role in stories is that of a guardian. I think they're pretty cool. (:
