Named the "Akula" by its manufacturer, the XF-01 utilizes a forward swept wing which makes it highly maneuverable. The type also boasts fifth generation technology. With AESA Radar, integrated avionics and thrust vectoring, it favorably compares to similar fighters.

By the mid-2000's, the XF-01 emerged as a limited production machine - with highly customizable features. A tandem seat strike version and an alternate powerplant are among the possible options. Export customers utilize the Akula as elite craft for their air forces.
