"Battered and bruised, exhausted and weary, the Adventurer finally made his way out of the damp, dark dungeon, having fought countless horrors and abominiations - with nary a gold coin to show for it. As he walked through the gate, the setting sun shone bright in his eyes and the sound of rushing water and excited birds seemed to welcome him. He found himself on a ridge, far above the ground, and he looked over the Valley of the Ancestors - lush, green, untouched by civilization. He took a deep breath - clearing the smell of the catacombs from his nostrils - and thought to himself: 'This is it. This is truly what makes it all worth it.' "I've got to admit, I'm always really scared of starting a big piece like this - especially if I want to add a background like this. I know backgrounds aren't my strong suit, so I always kinda subconsciously try to avoid them. However, if I set my mind to zero and just start drawing what I want to draw without overthinking things, sometimes something really beautiful can happen! That's exactly what I did with this piece and I'm personally very proud of how this one turned out.
