Chapter 4The Beginning of War
Aaron was outside the manor with Raven, he sat next to her in snow, in the huge piece of land their father owned. Aaron and Raven's hands patted down to snow, they got up and smiled at the snowman. Raven added a carrot for a nose and buttons for eyes, and a piece of thread to make a smiling face. She placed her hands on her hips, and smiled. It had been a week since Aaron returned, and it was almost time for Raven to go back to school. But she didn't want to go anywhere without Aaron anymore, she was too connected to him. From the door of the manor, their mother yelled. "Aaron! Raven! Time to come inside!" they raced each other to the door, but as Aaron ran in a arm caught him by the stomach. It wasn't his mother's or his father's, threatened. Aaron elbowed the person in the stomach, he dropped and Raven screamed. The man who had caught him, had blond hair and blue eyes.
He perched back, and coughed. "Jeez Midna, who knew Aaron was that strong knocked the wind out of me." Aaron let his defenses go down, it was Link. "Hi Uncle Link!" Raven flung herself in his arms, and Aaron stood feeling awkward. "Sorry Uncle Link," Aaron said, Link looked at him laughed and said. "Its okay that's, a good sign that means yours and Raven's powers are starting to grow." Aaron nodded and Midna patted him on the back. "You ready for some hot chocolate?" Aaron nodded, licking his lips.
During the time Aaron had lived with his new family he started to gain a healthy weight. He had even gained muscle, his figure looking like his father's. Down the hall a small child with blond hair, Lily. Was taking with Reaver, calling him Uncle Reaver. She looked and smiled at the two, Aaron liked to play with Lily, and Mike and Locke, even Star. Star whom was Uncle Logan's little girl. Star came from Bloodstone, like the last names of Aaron and Raven. Aaron had asked why his mother didn't have to the same last name his father. But she didn't respond, then he asked his father. But he only told him, it would happen in time.
In the lower room next to the piano by the stairs, the children drank hot chocolate while the parents talked. Aaron thought about his golden dragon egg upstairs in his fireplace. Lighting struck, but nothing happened, Scales had said to place it in the fire. The egg would hatch when it's ready, Aaron wondered if the egg would hatch at all. He drank some more of the rich hot chocolate, then Lily started to go on about the strange sittings in Hyrule lately. Lily had started to accompany her parents in the throne. A villager from the south village swore he had spotted monsters and the misty purple fog return to the forest. Lily said that her parents found nothing and said not to worry. Then more of the villagers began to see more sites of monsters returning to Hyrule. Raven listened closely, lately the monster rate and Albion has gone up. Raven once over heard her mother about the monster population sky rocketing.
And lately, their mother had been to the kitchen lately. Taking food from it, and hiding it somewhere. And she would go out to get supplies. Health potions, bedrolls, water skins. And, well Raven didn't know what her mother was preparing for. Neither did Aaron and lately, they overheard about a gate, and time. Raven had looked into this Gate Time. But found nothing, and a code their parents used. Were sending the baby birds to mama sparrow. Whatever that meant, as they sat and chatted. Aaron set his cup down, and was about to walk upstairs to check up on his dragon egg. When all the sudden something big hit outside, it wasn't Scales, it sounded more like a cannon. The whole manor shook, and Aaron fell backwards off the staircase. The manor shook violently, Raven was on the ground as Lily screamed her head off. Raven looked as her mother warped in, behind them. She took them in her arms and warped away. Then came back for Aaron, Aaron clung on to his mother. He closed his eyes as she warped away he found himself in his room. The manor was still shaking, he looked at the fireplace. He ran out of her arms, went and pulled the egg out of the fire.
He felt big strong arms pick him up. He looked his father in the eyes, Aaron saw panic. Then Lily was missing and Uncle Link. Something big banged on the roof above them causing pieces of the roof to come down. Reaver ran to the bed, set Aaron down, and with his strength pushed the bed slightly. There was a door under the bed, Midna opened the hatch. Gave a pack to Raven, then one to Aaron. A big, giant rock of the roof was about to fall down on them. Midna with her giant hand caught it and threw it to the other end of the room. Raven was crying, but she went down the hatch. Before Aaron did he looked at his mother, she hugged him tightly. "GO!" His father shouted as Aaron went down the hatch. Then over Aaron's head, the hatch clicked and locked shut.
Aaron's foot slipped as he slid down a long slid like tunnel. He didn't know how long he was sliding, but it wasn't pleasant. When he finally, reached the end. He slid out of a tree, he looked to see the bark of the tree move to cover the hatch hole. He looked back at the manor, to see it being struck down. And there in the terror, a red dragon and a black dragon twice the size of Scales. Fought in the air, jets of flames passing through each other. He looked around again to look for Raven, who he found hiding behind a tree. With a scream of a dragon she turned around, and shouted as she tried to run for her dragon. "SCALES!" Aaron caught her by the hand then pulled her the other way. Aaron looked on the other side of the hill they were on, others were running up it. He looked in relief to see Lily, Mike, Locke, and Star, and surprisingly Garth the second. "Whats happening?" Aaron exclaimed, they only replied with. "We have to go now, the adults are fighting them, but we need to leave!"
They began to run through the woods in hurry to escape, jumping over logs, and running through the snow. "Where are we going?" Raven shouted she was right behind Lily who was in the front of the group. "To the Temple of Time!" They ran for miles, no stopping when finally Mike and Locke did. They were over a hill looking over Bowerstone. They all stopped and gasped, as Bowerstone was in flames. The flames made a powerful smoke, And monsters with wings an bombs in their claws. Dropped them on the city, Raven grabbed both of their arms and urged them on. They had to keep moving, finally after a few more miles in the woods they reached the mirror. Lily placed her hand on the mirror, and spoke the oath. They all held hands as they disappeared, warping their way to Hyrule. When they landed in Hyrule, the boys, Mike and Locke broke down and began to cry. Their home they grew up knowing was destroyed. They all began to cry not knowing whether or not their parents were alive. Raven's heart spilt as when she heard the terrifying cries of her dragon.
