Destroying that which lies insideThe cave is white and oh so brittle
Concealing what you wish to hide
How is it that you know so little?
It comes to hinder all that feel
It comes and yet it is surreal.
Binding faith in Heaven holds you
Damnation upon a word makes fall
Now it comes and seeks to own you
Forever here but never at all
With Christ’s embrace you still might fail
But Heaven’s walls you needn’t scale.
Take the flesh in smaller doses
Accept with love but never follow
Take the time to smell the roses
In the sins you must not wallow
It comes to hinder all that feel
It comes and yet it is surreal.
Thought provokes an action hither
Don the armor and uphold the shield
Horrid beast brought down to wither
Take shelter within our good Lord’s field
With Christ’s embrace you still might fail
But Heaven’s walls you needn’t scale.
Hold to the straight and narrow path
Comforting is the pleasant ember
Keep near ahead of Satan’s math
