Description
Disheartened by parents away ran three boys.Upset with their lives they flee to a place,
A place all of wonder and full of good taste.
Once through a village, forgotten in shame,
A stranger had come and called them by name.
Beckoning silence, a finger to lips,
He huddled them close, so not one word they would miss.
“Running from home? I bet I know the reason:
You know what’s best whatever the test and your parents decided it treason.”
At the three nods that followed his voice seemed to hollow and he pulled them closer still.
“Well,” said the man “I have a plan, to give you authority and take life by the hand.
What I have in mind will extend your spine, for a lot of growing need happen.
To grow into a man as fast as you can, such is my wondrous plan.
All that you need is one special seed, which I happen to have should you feel the need.”
The stranger stood near to hear what they said.
The boys having thought, a decision been wrought, beckoned him back to them.
Extending their hands these three future men, they pondered their lives in their future disguise.
“Now all you need do is soak them clear through and you will be men by dawn.”
Before he was gone, he turned, not for too long, wondering if he should mention the price.
He turned back again determined by then, that he would return on the morrow.
Rising to knees and ripe with disease the boys now seemed so old,
Older than men but still younger by tens they still bore the minds of children.
Dawn broke just then and nearing the bend strode the stranger.
Seeking his prize, their early demise, he rejoices in parents’ cruel wisdom.
