Description
This experiment in DAZ Studio and Iray started out as an exploration of materials for the "Evil Slime" model. I couldn't find an acceptable material for the model, but it led to the idea of applying the custom material to a Genesis 3 figure with a DAZ skeleton inside it. I also combined this idea with the "Slime Attack - Vol.1" set to discover how it worked in a variety of poses. No post workRelated content

That's really cool looking. How long did it take to render all that transmissive slime?

Thank you, it rendered in about a half hour at this size. I used what I learned from your awesome shaders in "Rigged Water Iray 2"

I was concerned it was too disturbing. The funny thing is I posted it on Facebook and it's my Mom's favorite, now I'm concerned about her

Disturbing, of course, but not too bad, especially heading into Halloween time. I seriously had a dream with similar imagery, turned it into a horror story and people like it. But I do rather worry about your Mom!

OOO where is the story?. A nightmare like that would be terrifying.

So... the green slime bit is a recurring theme in my bad dreams, and I write it into anything that needs a bit of paranormal horror. And the original dream that this image reminds me of involved a serial killer and two women stuffed in a green filing cabinet, melted with acid so they fit. Yeah, that's gross. By the time I wrote out the nasty dream, I changed it a lot, but there's still a melted woman. The free short story's here: Death Park /

Nicely done! I have that set and still have not found a good use for it. Congrats!

Thank you, I fell into that trap too. It looked cool but what am I ever going to use it for. This is only my second time using it. I wish it moved and morphed with the figures. I need to stop falling for the constant sales.

Now that is interesting: I didn't knew something like »Slime Attack - Vol. 1« exists in the DAZ-shop. Does the slime move with the pose of the figure (at least to some degree)? Or does the figure - DAZ Genesis 3 - need to be in an exact pose?

JoePingleton In reply to TheInflater [2017-09-17 23:17:09 +0000 UTC]
Thank you, it only matches the corresponding poses. We really need to figure out a way to make them conforming figures or dynamic clothing

I fear that would not work or at least with major drawbacks. For this type of work I always use an external modelling application. In my case it's »modo« (where I also always rendering) or maybe »ZBrush« (which I don't own) to better apply and move the »slime« around individually.

Thank you, I think it's a step in the right direction, something still seems off about it. Maybe it's the lighting
